(Newer RCA TVs have preset options allowing you to correct the color instantly.) Sharpness, color tinting and other visual attributes can be adjusted by pushing the "Menu" button, then selecting the "Picture Quality" option. Push the "Menu" button, then go to "Preferences," then "Closed Captioning" to turn it off. If there's a black box on the screen, you may have inadvertently activated the closed captioning feature. Both allow you to cycle through the various viewing options until the picture looks right. Newer RCA sets allow you to shift the formatting between widescreen and full-screen programming if your image looks distorted or cut off, press the "Format" button on the remote, or press the "Menu" button, then the "Preferences" menu onscreen, then the "Screen Format" feature. Picture problems on an RCA TV can stem from a number of sources.
